John Pound & Co were a firm producing high quality luggage and luxury dressing cases, as shown in this reproduction of one of their adverts.

Mazawattee, which means “luscious garden”, were one of the biggest tea importers and distributors in Britain. This was the first of their many advertising signs, entitled “”The Old Folks At Home”.

A.E.C. was the Associated Equipment Company, a British firm known for manufacturing buses and trucks.

The original picture this comes from was a recruiting poster, pre-conscription, for the First World War. The artist was Savile Lumley, and the original poster was commissioned in 1915 by the British Parliamentary Recruiting Committee.
